Yeah mate, everyone gets rattles. The best thing to do is gradually take everything out till it stops. Once youve decuded whats causing the problem, get some sticky foam, blu tac, velcro or something to dampen the rattle. If not - take it out all together!

think i've sorted most of em out now, bought a roll of velcro and put the soft side in a strip down either side of the parcel shelf. made a hell off a differance also checked all the the jack and bits and they seemed a bit loose so i just put a load of insulation tape in the comparments to make them a snug fit. Ther are few more around the car that i chasing gradually but every time i find one and sort it another one appears:cry: maybe i just being to picky

I took mine back to the dealer and they used a load of felt strip's - stick on one side, felt on the other - and put them in various places including the glove box door. They even left me about a meter of the stuff in the car and i ran it along the ledge that the parcel shelf fits in - didn't stop the rattles in the boot lid though!

Got mine from the Arnold Clark SEAT/VW/Skoda dealer in Rowan Street in Paisley. Used to be great service but it's getting poor these days, my cars to get a new catalytic converter and after waiting 4 weeks I phoned them to be told it hadn't arrived yet. I phoned again 2 weeks later and was told the part wasn't available and wouln't be until next year. It's going in on Tuesday (10 weeks after the fault was found) to see if an alternative part can be fitted.

Think i'll look into taking it to Livingstons in Uddingston for it's 20K service next month. I heard good things about them.

My only annoying remaining rattle is in the boot lid - had a look in but can't see what exactly is causing it - I may let Sir Arnold have another go!

Cheers.

If you have comming from the boot area going over bumps then you might like to try this! Wrap a few turns of black electrical tape round the pin that the boot latch latches on to. This fixed mine 100%.

It looks to me like the pins have been machined incorrectly and are between 0.5 and 1.0mm smaller than the hole created by the latch. This causes the boot door to move and the pin to bang the latch as you go over bumps!
