has it been remapped???

Hi guys,
I'm pretty new here, and have found loads of usefull info over the last couple of weeks.
Anyway, I recently picked up a nice 52 plate cupra from the Seat dealer in Norwich. It has a pipercross ind. kit, and I get lots of whooshing and turbo whistle (not sure if this is from stock parts or upgrades though).
What i'd really like to know is if it has been remapped, and how I would go about finding out. I've tried searching but have'nt found anything that helps yet.

Any help would be apreciated!

You could

- Get it rolling roaded and see what power it's producing
- Find out with a boost gauge what psi or bar the car is running
- Log the car using a laptop with VAG-COM
- Take the car to an independent tuner and ask them to check for you although it will cost you their labour time.

Just thinking, Am I correct in thinking that if it has been remapped, I would be able to switch between settings? if so would that be with VAG-com?

Depends on who did the map and how their software is designed to work, some software has bespoke tools for operating it e.g. Revo have the SPS controller, Custom Code have some software you can use via a laptop and serial cable and Apr have a variety incl using a cruise control stalk etc. For other tuners it's a fixed map with no peramaters you can change.

Seriously, VAG com would be a good option - or the RR test should also give you a good indication

I would probably get it on the rolling road and see what figures you get,then if it has been remapped at least you will have a nice print out to see what poer it is running too.

i had a race with a black fr diesel other month he was in front and eventually caught him and done him gradually, mines standard, and yes he was trying, we both were caining it, and both are standard, i know its down to driver too like
