Chip Boost

Hi there,

Only recently signed up to this forum as I've just taken ownership of a 150 FR which I'm really chuffed with - but alas I am keen to get more power out of it.

Having looked around on the net I have come across Chip Boost in Scarborough and wondered if any members had used his service and what the expereince was. After contacting James over the phone he seems pleasant enough but it would be re-assuring if any members have used his service with positive recomendations???

After forking out for a new car I am cautious to use the right person....... any feedback would be greatly appreciated.

What code do they use? Are they a reseller for a major company like say revo?

From speaking with James he reads off the current ECU data and then e-mails it off to a colleague to be tweaked according to the requirment - in my case increased 0-60 performance rather than towing - I don't know anything about specific coding???

Welcome to the forum.. hope you enjoying the car...

You are better off getting a remap.. rather than a piggy back chip...

But if you have a brand new car.. i think it's best if you "break it in" before going made with anything otherwise you might end up doing damage....

Hi Lina - the cars new to me - but its a 55 plate with 6,000 miles on the clock.

Based in Leeds primarily (and Nottingham) - I'm keen to take the car to someone who has the experience coupled with the backing of many of the cupra net tdi clan members.......

Basically I'm looking for recomendations of a really good exprerienced remapping service!

I would say 6k.. is still a bit too fresh for a remap..

6k is fine for remapping. just keep on top of maintenance

Just because it's remapped from new doesn't mean you need to exploit the extra power straight away.

Exactly! This is a common question I get asked.

You can have a car re-mapped from new, but you should still run it in. You can start going through the rev range once you have covered around 1500 miles.

his business is his own and he just buys files from this tuner.
