Leon Cupra MK2 Pre-Facelift

High motorway mileage hero, SEAT Leon Cupra MK2 with the robust 240bhp VAG 2.0 TFSI K04 petrol engine. Finished in Inferi Black, manual gearbox, 183k miles, freshly serviced and long MOT until March next year. It has air conditioning, xenon lights, electric windows, cruise control and electric mirrors. We have kept it serviced in our ownership and there is some service history from previous owners. We were lead to believe by the last owner that the cam-belt was changed a couple of years ago but there isn’t any paperwork to prove this, albeit we had it inspected and the belt was in good condition as was the water pump.

This car has been a dream to own and the mileage is testament to how well these cars are put together. We had planned to keep it and maybe upgrade it but we need something more economical really. The car runs and idles faultlessly and quietly. The gearbox and clutch are in good operation and operate smoothly, there is very little to say mechanically that this car has the mileage it does.

Recently the car has also had new pads and discs on the front and pads on the rear including new rear calipers, brake fluid and bleed. It has also had a replacement anti-roll bar drop link to replace a worn out part.

The car is probably as close to factory standard as you can get these days, given the age of the car. It has not been remapped and does not have any engine tuning or exhaust modifications. There are some age related marks (it’s 17yrs old now) such as stone chip, small dings here and there are some scratches. There is some lacquer peel on the bonnet which is common on this car however, it’s not hideous and is perfectly fixable. The interior is in very good condition with original stereo and CUPRA bucket seats however, there is some light driver seat bolster wear, again common on this car. If I’m being honest, the drivers wing mirror may need replacing as it adjusts intermittently.

There’s not much in this price bracket that will allow you to go much faster. If you know these cars, you’ll know it’s capable with some aftermarket parts to easily output 360bhp so, it’s well worth a look.
