After reading this great forum for couple of months now, I finally got my new Black Magic mk5 Ibiza SC FR TSI MY11 yesterday after a long long wait (placed my order in July). Had some extra delays in delivery because they had to paint the rear bumper since it had some scratches on it, probably caused by transport
But now it's finally here Took some options like xenons, side skirts, rear spoiler and carbon pack and have to say it looks good with those. And of course, because I live in Finland, I had to take also engine heater (not sure if that's the right term for it) and studded winter tyres as non-factory options too. Had also black mirror caps fitted before picking the car up.
Took also rear mudflaps since I was told that front ones come standard in Finland. But yesterday, when picking the car, I was hit with the fact that front mudflaps do not fit with the sideskirts, so now theres only rear ones and I think that looks a bit stupid
Another thing that looks a bit stupid is the engine heater plug since it was placed to driver side corner of the front bumper and it sticks out there quite notably (usually it is fitted to front). But I was told it was the only place that had enough room inside the bumper for the fitting, so I guess I only have to live with this "aesthetic flaw".
Probably getting it lowered at some point, but looks like that at least the winter tyres fill the arches quite well so might run into some problems with those. Well of course the tyre diameter is a bit higher with those since there were no original sized winter tyres available. Other mods might be Cupra headlights and bumpers, and aluminium pedals at some point, but let's see. Also remapping it to Cupra level is quite tempting
Oops, it came quite a long story, so better stop now Well, I guess we will see in couple of months how the FR TSI copes in Finnish winter conditions. And sorry for my imperfect English
Btw, can you see the engine temperature somewhere in the dash or am I just blind?
