 Guys,

Sunday is the day that I check that my precious Leon is all ok.
But when I pooped open the bonnet as you do, and unscrewed the oil refill cap I noticed some yellow residue around the cap and in the hole. Is this a serious problem or I’m I in trouble??????????

Thanks,

DS

'Cheese' around the oil filler cap usually indicates water in the oil, not something you want to leave unchecked!

Would suggest you check coolant levels to see if you're losing any but it really should be checked at a garage.

If you look inside the oil filler cap, is there a build up of this inside it too?

Its not a major problem aslong as the car is not using water.

My LCR had the mayonase goo in the inside of the oil cap when i bought it, this was due to the previous owner only using it for short 5 mile runs and causing condensation in the engine which mixes with the oild to cause the yellowish goo.

I have now had the car serviced again in a seat garrage and the engine is perfect now it has fresh oil and filter on it.

Oh no this sounds expensive,

Well to answer uncleFester's question, yes there is a bit of cheese around the inside of it to. I think what happend is when it snowed, i drove of with loads of snow on my car and some of it went onto the engine via the front grill as the top of the engine was wet to.

To answer (andycupra's ) question the last oilchange was done sometime in may last year by a seat dealership.

what should i do???
