Hi everyone,

First post on SeatCupra.net and have only been a Seat owner for 2 weeks! I bought a Leon Cupra TDI and am loving the ride so far!

I have a quick question if I may...

The yellow engine light popped on about 3 days after I bought it, I took it back to the dealer and he said the checks found an injector fault. He told me he just reset the computer to see if the problem occurs again. Last night it did and for the last few days I have noticed an erratic turbo problem, where when overtaking I seem to get short multiple bursts of turbo but nothing consistent.

My question is would the injectors cause this turbo lag and is it a major fix?

Any info on this or other suggestions would be very much appreciated.

hi
congrats on your new car and 1st post :)

i work for a vag specialist and there has been issues with the injectors.
if 1 injector is down it more than likelly will cause the stuttering.
was it a seat dealer you took it to as a copy of VAG COM or the dealers should pick up all

Thanks very much :)

No I bought it from a small independent dealer which has access to "a magic box of tricks" as he put it. I dropped it off there this morning so I am hoping it can be sorted. Is it a major job to sort out?

Have had similar issues. Have had all injectors replaced but after a few weeks the light comes on again. Could it be a wiring fault. If its intermittent that could cause the light to come on and a "missfire"?

these aftermarket diagnoses machines wont do much fault finding with your car.. id take it to a stealer or ask in the vag com section if anyone is down your way..
that way it will tell you what injector it is and if it is just leaking.. could just need new seals.

Slipping Clutch

A collegues husband who is an RTE mechanic for Ford took a look at it last night. He hooked it up to a computer and all that flashed up was a faulty glow plug. This rules out the injectors! He then took it for a test drive and is 90% sure that its a slipping clutch that is effecting the turbo. Quite a different conclusion to the "dealers freelance mechanic"!!!
