HI all just a quick question.

Do your xenon head light washers pop up every time you wash the windscreen?

Do they only work when your moving?

Or do they only come on every other time.

Just seeing if I have got a problem with mine

Thanks
Chris

It's either every 3 or every 5 washes of the windscreen, I forget which.

I think they are fed by a separate high pressure pump, which would mean that they can fail independently from the main washer jets if they are not working at all?

Ok dealer is looking at it today as I am picking up the car tomorrow.

Didn't know if it was broken or just me.

Thanks for the replies

It's a larger, single tank, separate pumps and every 3/5(?) manual windscreen washes but only when you have at least dipped beams on.

Daz, what vinyl did you use on your callipers mate? The metal part on mine has rusted badly and I need to get it painted but then I've just seen yours and looks good :)

As said the headlight washers use a lot of fluid but there will be a loe fluid warning light if you have Xenons. Mine work every 5th windscreen wash as long as the headlights are on.

They're brake retainers from the golf r20/r32 calipers, you also find them on audi's like the s3 and s4, then they are vinyl wrapped with decals on.

In the manual it says - lights on & you need to hold the stalk for 1.5 seconds.

Mine weren't working & got this error:

Thanks for this thread, had the same problem with mine. Only issue was finding the darn fuse boxes. Not where SEAT say in the manual. And no numbers in the fuse box!

Mine was registering the same fault as above.

Like a muppet, I looked at the fusebox, saw the blown one and thought "There's the problem!" and yanked it out without looking where it came from:cry:. Trial and error, and about 4 liters of washer fluid later, I found the right location! The fuse was kind of on it's own in the middle of an empty row, which was why it was so hard to find.

You can actually hear a relay clicking behind the driver's side fusebox when the headlight washers kick in, which is useful for troubleshooting. IIRC it was location 36 in the manual, but that means nothing if the fusebox has no numbers!
