Would MAF problem cause "all cylinders misfire" warning codes?

Hi all, just a quick question... had all the juddering/erratic idling/hesitation problems that ive read loads about. Throwing up several codes,

"fuel trim lean",
"pressure drop between turbo & throttle valve",
"O2 sensor circuit malfunction bank 1 sensor 1"

so from what ive read, could be MAF problem,
but also has "Cylinder 1, 2, 3, and 4 - misfire detected"

Ive disconnected MAF and car drives completely as normal, so looking more like MAF problem.

So my question is: If it is the MAF, would that cause "all 4 cylinder misfire" warning codes??

and could i be overlooking something else? Maybe all coil packs gone? but would that be "fixed" by disconnecting MAF??

All v weird
Any suggestions or advice?

Thanks in advance

misfire could also be lean or rich running either way in excess, so yes... perfectly possible for MAF to create this. as shown it drives fine with maf disconnected. Do the MAF first

O2 sensor manfonction however may be lambda or its plug/wiring

yes maf would cause that problem,if you have dissconnected it,and it works fine !!! then that is your fault. thats where i would start!!!!!!!

take your plastic engine cover off, and check wiring for splits and cracks ,this fault is the most common and goes unnoticed!!! (ref to coilpacks and injectors)

good luck!

Thanks for advice, yes i will go with new MAF to start with and keep fingers crossed nothing else crops up.

Just was a bit confused as to why the MAF would cause "all cylinder misfire" codes, car is definately not right, but dont hink its actually misfiring on 4 cylinders!!

My local GSF has Bosch ones (which im assuming is what is on the car now) for abt 90quid, but i get 29quid back if i return broken one.

Thanks all, enjoy your weekends!

maybe the ecu trying hard to match irractic maf readings. coils not keeping up with the changes.. unburnt fuel picked up at bank 1.

mafs are a law unto themselves:D

***UPDATE*** Im pleased to say that after swapping the MAF for a new Bosch one, the 6months worth of problems "seem" to be cured. Running and accelerating better than has done for ages.... very pleased with myself, thank v much for advice. Im only hoping that the misfuelling etc hasnt caused any other problems...?
Also, i have the radio code, but display been in this SAFE mode for 36 hours now, when is it gonna let me type the code in???

Any thoughts??

Best wishes

Unfortunately not, i disconnected again and left it for couple of hours, when re-connected its still sayd "SAFE". According to handbook, i cannot attempt to enter code until the "SAFE" mode has cleared, and this will apparently happen after a non-specific time interval!

Bit of a mystery really....

Yeah there is a little 2, which i understand from manual means that so far, ive tried on 2 occasions to enter code. Which is actually not the case.

mine did similar but i did enter the wrong code first.

although its still connected to 12v live even when off i found it quicker to turn it back on after key removal. leave it showing safe and try in an hour.

dont hate me if it kills your battery tho ;)
