Worth changing tyres on 16's

For the past few weeks, had alot of issue getting the power down, 2nd gear it just keeps spinning and 3rd occasionaly. the road has been abit wet but not sure if its the weather or just the car.

In Jan 07 the front tyres were changed to KUMHO 205/55 Z 16,

To improve the front traction, is it worth changing the tyres to something better or getting a sligthly bigger alloy such as 17"

To be honest, no point mate. I'm running 225/45/17 Falken 452's and even they can't put the power down in 2nd gear

The only solution is to drive like miss daisy when the roads are slippy.
