Hey,
I'm aware that Seat aren't exactly the best for after sales, but I'm getting really p*ssed off with my local dealer and was wondering whether it was worth a letter to Seat UK? Would it achieve anything? My problems are a bit of an essay so I'll try and bullet them for easier reading.
1. When I first bought the car I gave my dealer over 2 weeks heads up off when I wanted to collect the car - plenty of time for them to sort everything out. It wasn't ready on the date I agreed - a friday, neither the following monday.
2. When I collected the car there were so many scratches and dings, even though I'd put down a deposit on a 'mint' car. I'd also been told the wrong mileage - but I got them to drop the price in relation to this. The dealer buffed out all the scratches - but this meant another 30 mile journey back to them. But more annoyingly whilst me and my dad (he's a mechanic) were looking over the car, the salesman who was getting a big fat commision from my sale was chatting to a colleague whilst pointing at us and shaking his head - I can only imagine what he was saying. I wish I'd walked away at that point.
3. Within half a mile of the driving from the dealer - two warning lights on the dash. It may have only been the DPF and Tyre Pressure...but why weren't they sorted before I left!?
4. That brings me on to Seat's Pre-Sale Checks - I returned within two weeks to the dealer with two problems - I had the classic VW Group electric window fault (the rear window wouldn't close) and my O/S mirror was making a cracking noise when folding in/out which was a broken part inside. I managed to get a copy of the checks they did on my car and apparently they checked all the things that were broken on my car as well as a few other things which they couldn't possibly have checked.
5. I then returned a few months later in January - my windscreen was freezing on the inside because the Air Con was broken, having never used the Air Con (I bought it in the Autumn - why would I?) that could have been broken when I bought the car too. The dealer's method of repairing the problem infuriates me. The replaced the aircon unit, then to dry out the moisture built up in the car - They left it idling for over 6 HOURS! This used 100's of miles worth of my fuel that they never replaced and could have caused a lot of damage the the engine + turbo.
6. I have now just had the car serviced with them - I dropped the car off at 10am and said I'd be back to collect it around 5pm. I arrived back at 4.30pm and it was apparently out on a test drive to make sure everything was okay. I left the dealer nearly two hours later - it had been on an hour long drive over 20 miles (in rush hour traffic) and had been thrashed - 30mpg average - I dropped it off with 50+ mpg. They didn't apologise for my inconvience just handed me the wrong keys and gave me an invoice.
I am disgusted by their service and won't be trading with them again or buying another Seat.
Thank you for your time.
