saw these pics veyr briefly yesterday on a german site, but did'nt get a chance to post.

Like the FR a lot, but imagine it will look a lot better in Red or Grey. The optional wheels are the 18" ones seen on the Bodykitted models for info.

Not bad - would expect the Cupra to be much more beefed up. Not totally convinced that this FR is enough of a statement over the standard models. Just my 2p worth :)

its never intended to be though, the FR is a warm hatch, never been touted as a hot hatch, thats where the Cupra steps in.

And this is the usual clothing for the warm version of any car, ie compare the Punto sporting to the GT, the 206 XSI to the GTI, the Golf GT to the GTi, the Fiesta Zetec-s to the ST, the St170 to the Focus RS, the Astra SRI to the VXR and so on.

in fact SEAT have hit the nail on the head this time, looks good, not too much, but enough to clearly dstinguish it from the Sport brand, well done SEAT!!

I know what you're saying, but at 200bhp surely that's in hot hatch terrritory? Golf Gti is 200 bhp, and no-one says that's not hot. As I say I'd hope the Cupra would be much more beefed up, just expected a little more from the new FR. Maybe it's cos I'm still not totally convinced by the new Leon shape.

dont forget they need to 'visually' leave space for the next Cupra which will be placed above that. Too many wings and skirts on that andit won't sell (Max Power crew dont tend to have 18-20k hanging around in there Burberry trackies)

Decisions decisions!!

#1 TFSI Sport + Aero kit + 18/19" alloys + lots of options for around 18k sourced via Broadspeed:

Seat Leon 2.0T FSI Sport 5 Door - £14498

SELECTED OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT:
Auto dimming rear view mirror with rain sensor and automatic lights (£175) :: CD multichanger (£240) :: Front passenger airbag disconnection (£0) :: Heated front seats (£125) :: Space saver spare wheel (not available with trailer towing device) (£35) :: Xenon headlights (£765) ::
Colour: Solid Emocion Red
TOTAL OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT & SERVICES COST: £1340

UNPRICED OPTIONAL EQUIPMENT: Aero kit - front and rear bumpers, sill trims, rear spoiler and twin exhaust. (SEAT supplied kit) I would consider brand new only

TOTAL PRICE, ON THE ROAD INCLUDING 12M TAX, INCLUDING YOUR CHOSEN OPTIONS, INC VAT: £15838

#2 Leon FR TFSI - looks nice but I agree that it doesn't look as good as the Aero kit

#3 "Slum" it in my LCR for 6 months longer until the new Cupra is released

I'm not sure what the resale will be like on the Wide Boy body kit.....

The thing that stands out the most is that the Cupra must be in development because the 'black' spy shots taken have brembo's on - whereas the FR has single pots.

which means it'll be released before the winter is upon us (hence winter testing was being done 2 months back)

Looks OK but not as good as I hoped to be honest, saying that though the photos of the new leons dont do them justice, make them look like the Altea too much i.e MPV.
I think it will looked better in black or silver and roll on the cupra!

wheels aren't my cup of tea,and they done the cheap mirror thing again. looks cack imho.but th erest looks spot on.and the styling is different again to the add on kit already available.
i just hope that customers get more of a colour choice than the usual red grey silver black(yellow is fine) that SEAT insist on giving you.i've never understood it myself.

aero kit looks good, but I agree that the resale probably won't be as good as the FR. If you look carefully, there's not a lot different apart from cosmetics on the FR than the TFSI Sport. Waiting for the Cupra would be my choice if you're looking for a car that's significantly different from standard. Otherwise save your money and get the Sport, it's the same engine as the FR, even the seats are the same, just different materiel. Although I have to say I do like the Yellow paint and the front bumper, but that's about it, not really worth the £2.5k IMHO

I'm with Jase on this - I still don't like it :thumbd: I particularly dislike the alloys and that revolting centre console  .

I await to be impressed by the Cupra (and I honestly hope I am as I still have faith in the SEAT brand!).
