My new FR is a 58 plate and has done just over 3k miles. The wiper blades are quite streaky so I was going to go to my local dealer and see if they would replace them for free.

What do you guys reckon my chances are?

as you have just bought the car i would complain , they will probably just change them for you as a good will gesture , i think even if a bulb blows in the first 3 months of owner ship garages are obliged to change it foc.

Why should they?
You have given the deal to someone else who may make a goodwill gesture-but the usual view on consumables is that they are part of the running costs. I supose you have cleaned them- it may only be dust on the blade edges.

If they weren't so greedy I would have bought an orange one from them but this red one was 2.5k cheaper with the same options, age and miles.

Well if there is a warranty obligation for x months or x miles then I think they should. Any idea how much a new pair is ? I might just buy a new pair

Careful - the cost may cripple you :cartman: Honestly Nath - just buy a new set, going back to any dealer for free wipers under warranty is extraction of urine - they're disposable parts, service items .. consumables .. call them what you will.

I have "extracted the urine" with my company car. And was told by said dealer that with Vauxhall that within the first 6 months or 6k miles that they can and will replace wipers, bulbs, top up fluids, check and adjust wheel bolt torque, check and adjust tyre pressures all for free.

I was just asking if Seat do this kind of customer service?

My previous 4 Seats and my dad's previous 3 seats have never needed any of this "customer service" before buy this one I have now does

Yeah, you're prob right. I have sold a load of goodies from the old MK4 Ibiza and I have 225 quid in my paypal account.

I'm going to collect my 2008 cupra black grill and front flaps tomorrow so If they have a pair in stock I will just buy them and not look like a pikey :)

Prob get a touch up paint thingy too.

I think the mk2 leon OEM wipers are the aero ones anyway aren't they?

I have cleaned them BTW

Not sure, still happily ensconced in a Mk1 :) With Aero wipers though, they do work a lot better! Actually the first thing i'd do is get the windsreen stupidly clean ( a lot of glass polish) and then rain-x it properly - doesn't matter about wipers then :)

I could do with some new blades as mine have been on for 50k miles are are getting very squeaky, despite being cleaned very well. I'm shocked at the £33 price tag though!

I'd clean the blades & screen 1st.

Use some fairy liquid on a damp sponge & rinse well after, that will stripp any traffic film, or cheap glass cleaner that may be on the glass.

i wouldnt go any where near my car with washing up liquid , it will ruin your paintwork.
just use neat vinegar on a cloth for your wiper blades will make them like new ;)
