Hello guys,

I have recently discovered the garage had replaced my wiper bolt with a phillips screw.

I have been looking around for a replacment bolt to match the other side, but i've had no luck what so ever.

Has anybody had this issue and managed to find a bolt that is simular to the factory one.

Thank you for reading, any help would be appreciated. :)

The passenger side one? They've probably ****** it up and slapped a screw in there to get the car out the door.
That side is reverse (left hand) thread, which is why a regular bolt won't go on.

It obviously means you turn that bolt right to undo it, not left. 99% get sheared off because someone turns the bolt the wrong way.

I seem to have found the issue and was being an idiot the whole time.

So by the looks of things i reckon the person who last tested my MOT has snapped of the bolt (as you can see in IMG_2565)

Behind the bolt, there is a small hole where they have drilled a little hole to put a little phillips screw there to hold the wiper in place (unfortunatley the picture does not show it as its behind the bolt).

I will give it to them, this is very crafty.

The reason I was asking for where I could find the bolts is due to me not seeing they're one paer with the bolt attached.

(FYI ive never done anything to wipers on a car so far hence me being dumb).

I reckon the next step is to find whichever part this is called and replace this, it looks like it may be a little bit of hassle due to the plastic trim behind the bonnet and below the windscreen.

The whole reason to find a new bolt was due to the wiper making a sound everytime it wiped, and it was loose.

I would take it back to the MOT place, but it would be to late at this point and they will deny breaking the bolt.

You were indeed right, thank you. not too sure what to do at this point.

Yea but don't forget these are sided, so you need to make sure you're buying the correct part for that side of the car.

Replacing the part is really easy though.
