Winter tyres on a LCR

I know we are all now thinking summer rather than winter just now.
Due to wifes car dying (1 ltr Polo with super skinny tyres) I need to be able to drive properly and safely in snow.
I have searched through 3 pages of LCR 'winter' and 'tyre' threads but not found a definative answer:shrug:
Has anyone found, fitted and driven a LCR with 225/40/18 winter tyres on standard alloys?
Or has anyone found an alloy or 'steely' of a smaller radius that will fit over the brembo calpiers and have got a winter tyre fitted to it?
There seem like there are a few other European members that might have done this but not sure they have the Brembo's fitted.
Any help will be good, cheers

The only semi-useful thing I can say here is that the standard Mk1 Audi S3 17" alloy wheels fit over the Brembos, so if you need to go for a smaller wheel, this might be an option.

The width may be a bit smaller too, which should help.

The only thing I'm not sure about is if you have to buy original Audi wheels, or replicas, as some Audi wheels wont fit the Seat as the PCD is different. But there have definitely been cars (car...?) on this forum with them fitted.

In fact, search the Pictures forum for 'S3 wheel LCR' and you'll hopefully find pics of a Euro LCR, with Brembos, with these wheels fitted.
