Some divvy smashed the outer casing of my wing mirror to bits. [:@]

(Was parked on a normal sized street with good space for two way traffic)...

Anyway, does anybody know what vag car models carry the same (Driver's side) wing mirror?

And is the (black) colour a good match? Or is o.e. theway to go?
.

2001 Leon Cupra, black.

Cheers

PS Part numbers too please.

i'd have a searchy on here mate - LOADS of people have had this done recently.

If you have teardrop mirrors then no idea.
If you have square mirrors (like mine - i think u do from ur sig pic) then the golf IV mirror glass is the same, so probably find the case is too?

The good news is that same mirror was fitted to the Golf and the Passat. The bad news is that neither of them had the same folding system as the Leon - so if you want to keep the mirror folding you have to get one for a Leon.

The glass is £25, the upper (coloured bit) of the cover is £15 (plus painting).

The bad news is that you can't but just the lower black cover - it only comes as part of a new motor unit, at £70 from your local dealer.

It's about ten minutes to fit - so only bother getting the dealer to do it if it's too cold outside.

Simon.

Have done a search, but could not find out if:

Will a VW Sharan wing mirror case fit?

Thanks for any info.

I had some c**t kick mine off recently - one thing you should do is salvage any bits you can. If you can save the mirror glass, the motor for moving the glass, the metal mount it attaches to etc, that'll save you some money - I basically picked mine apart, un-doing the wiring, and put all the salvageable parts in a carrier bag. I took all that in, and they replaced what I needed. Luckily, the outer casing wasn't really damaged - that'll need to be sprayed in-house, I believe.

i had my driverside mirror broken and was quoted 160 for parts and 30 for painting, in the meantime ive gotten a pair of bling bling chrome covers which cover most of the damage on the unit, thanks again andy!
looks very bling bling but not as bad as a broken wing mirror!

Cheers Degudodger,

but those are the bits I got... I need the outer casing.

In case anyone's interested, got quoted about £57 for a complete unit from a breakers... but I'm trying to get just the outer casing...

Just a thought; but is there a way using vag.com to draw the mirrors in when you use the central locking?
