Hey for the past week when I've had my heating on in the car I keep hearing a cracking sound, I thought this was the dash plastic expanding etc but yet again a nice crack has appeared on the windscreen!! Same place as it did last time...top right hand corner about 8-9inches. RAAGGGEEEEEE

Thats strange, Is this your second windscreen with the same problem.
It doesnt really make sense, Maybe you've got fubar pillar that bends the glass out of shape? mad as it sounds I've never heard of this happening to anyones car!

on my 1.2 i had 4 windscreens as the cheap ass auto glass ones did not fit properly and seem to be poor quailty. if i was i would push to get a SEAT screen fitted by a dealer.

i hate auto glass now because not only did 4 of there screens crack but they damaged the dash and a pillars fitting them. then they got arsey when i said they had to repair the dash or pay for a new one. i'd rather pay the extra tenner on the insurance and have a dealer do it

A windscreen from the dealer will be about £200 though! I came out to find the glass bloke using a little screwdriver to pull the clips out the trim when he took out my rear 1/4 window. He mangled the plastic clips that go in the pillar grrr! He also didn't even try to not get glass everywhere luckily I had a big coat and has taped it onto the edge of the window to catch all the glass but still finding bits. He kept moaning that he had to come out and do the job and that I woke him up (even thou I rang at 11:30 am!) not like I wanted my window broken!

most insurance companies charge about £60 for glass excess and if you want to use your own repairer i.e a dealer they charge a extra tenner
