Window wipers!!!

Can anyone please help me!!
I have a seat ibiza mk3 2002, the window wipers are working away madly on their own!
if i jam a piece of cardboard in the stalk they stop, but then i can't wash the screen!
Anyone got any ideas?????

Replace the motor mate it sounds like its trippin out or something

yeah i've tried that mate, it only does it if i pull the piece of cardboard out i've put in, but then i can't pull on the front washers!!

ummm checked the fuses and relays?

Could be faulty stalk from the sound of it.

thanks. i'll order up a new stalk and give that a go!
are they difficult to replace?
Also are the clutches all quite hard to push down? mines quite stiff

My clutch pedal is quite hard compared to my old car. Sat in traffic does my head in now as my foot starts to ache after 10-15 mins
