Window and Mirror issues

hey guys, FR has been in the dealers today to sort out an airbag light issue ...... it appears its a known issue with a fix out from seat, something to do with the wiring (2nd time i have had this done but anyway).
while it was there i wanted to get a couple of other problems looked at, but guess what... it didnt fail for them.
So, has anyone come across either of these problems:

1) when its cold my rear windows dont wind down, they dont work from my switch in the front or the ones in the back, its not the childlock thing on the windows and they arent frozen up. they seem to start working after i have been driving for 5-10 mins. sometimes its one, sometimes its both, occasionally neither but always happens in the cold!

2) when folding my mirrors from the fob i occasionally come back to the car and the passenger side mirror is only half folded in. then when i turn my key in the ignition it finishes folding in, then both fold out together. Dealer said they had found something in the error logs about the switch overheating or something and cleared it so that *might* fix it.

its one of those annoying things that probably wont get fixed cos it wont fail when i take it in to be looked at, and taking my car to the dealer is always a pain. on the plus side they did wash my car today including the wheels.......which is something i havent been bothered to do for the past few weeks! :)

cheers for any input!

Well how strange is that then my 07 Fr was in and out of the dealer 3 or 4 times and was only fixed a couple of weeks ago. Although I only had the window issue. also you notice that if you turn on your sidelights the illumination for the rear window switches come on and go off after a second or 2. I ended up leaving my car overnight on a cold night and it done it with them and they got a fault code' as every other time there was no error codes. anyway Seat asked them to check a few things and in the end they replaced both rear door control units and that sorted it. Yeah I like things to be right thats why I wanted mine fixed. Also one day my rear windows didn't work at all on a 60 mile journey. The other thing my car done was if you were stopped at traffic lights or a junction sometimes when pulling away you could hear it trying to lock the rear doors again although they were already locked.
So it's not just me then Kev

My local Dealer Telfords of Carlisle fixed mine they were great and worked through this strange fault and fixed it 100%

i havent noticed the illumination but ill have a look when i go out in a bit! and i havent had the locking thing you mentioned either. i did have the driver door control unit replaced due to alarm problems.

i only have 5 months left on the warranty and if it only does it in the cold my time is running out to get it sorted without it costing...

Well the dealer said my car had already had a drivers control unit before I got it. They tried one in the passenger door first but made no difference. From the sound of it the software in the front control unit is too new for the ones in the rear. Strange eh? I bet there is alot more with this problem that ain't noticed we are so observant. Kev

press and hold the lock button for a few seconds, u can let go as soon as they start folding.
it will also wind up all your windows but you have to hold down for that until yuo want them to stop.
if you hold down your unlock button it will wind down the windopws for as long as you hold the button..

My folding mirrors have an intermittent fault and sometimes one or the other doesn't retract fully. Seems to be the cold that effects them.

If the problem persists it will be going into the dealers.
