Been searching the net for a new clutch setup and stumbled on this set up... for the price it looks good and can handle 225-275bhp which is about what i will need when i eventually go for the KO3S setup.

http://www.ecstuning.com/

Juts scroll down abut and its on the left hand side... reads....

ECS - VW Stage 1 Clutch Kit (228mm) With Light Weight Steel ECS 14lbs Flywheel, 225-275hp

Works out at 212quid which is not bad for the clutch, lightened flywheel along with all plates and bolts

Thoughts?

Some more info pulled from the site

Complete kit includes flywheel pressure plate disc and all hardware. Mk4 Golf Jetta and Beetle 1.8T 2.0L & TDI cars will damage the stock dual mass flywheel when the clutch starts slipping. The dual mass flywheel when bought from V/W is over $500.

We offer the complete kit that includes a ECS lightweight 14 steel flywheel for less than just a flywheel from V/W.

This kit will retain stock like pedal characteristics along with much improved clamping force & larger diameter clutch assembly. Lighter OEM Steel flywheel only 14lbs versus 22 lbs of the stock 1.8T.

This is not a lightened modified OEM flywheel like others.

20-30% more clamping force than stock clutch!
Faster spool-ups & more horsepower!
Kit uses OEM Sachs VR6 Clutch pieces
Kit is good up to 200-250 wheel Horsepower & up to approx 275lbs of wheel torque
Excellent pedal feel pedal retains OEM type feel. Kit includes the following parts:
Lightweight steel ECS flywheel
Sachs clutch pressure plate
Sachs clutch disc
Sach's OEM throw out bearing
OEM flywheel bolts
ECS Installation tool

Installation: Torque Flywheel to crank 60Nm.(44ft.lbs.) + 1/4" turn (90deg)Torque Pressure Plate to Flywheel 20Nm.

Just looked on awesomes website and they do sell this kit. Does not specify thats it for the MK3 but they are selling this kit for 316quid. Would be easier to order it direct from ECS in amercia. Ok i might have to pay abit for shipping but it still cant add up to be more than awesome's price... if it fits that is?

I think that this one is the same setup, and it includes everything. The only stumbling block could be import tax... how much that would be i have no idea. May make some calls today and see how bad the damage is.

Hi
yes this clutch will fit your car
Be warned the import duty WILL catch you out
It costs us a fortune for the duty on these , as we have found out many times
The 14lb flywheel kit is in stock at the moment with us @ £275 + VAT
The 20lb flywheel is not in stock at the moment and we have these at £309 + VAT
I hope that helps?

Thanks awesome....yeh i know you guys sell this... did check it out before i looked else where. Will find out how much the import duty is for myself, as it may be alot kess than what you guys get charged as i assume you buy in bulk and i wont be. How much are the two kits including VAT and do they come with any guarentees?

cheers
