Will standard anti roll bar bushes fit onto my new vrs anti roll bar?

Hi guys,

As the title suggests im currently in the process of replacing the standard anti roll bar on my 02 tdi pd100 (due to the common collar breaking problem) with a fabia vrs bar.

Looking at the bushes on my old bar they have a nylon/plastic insert in contact with the metal of the bar - I think that these bushes would fit on the new thicker bar I have if the plastic wasnt there, and wondered if anyone knew whether the vrs bushes have these plastic inserts or whether they are needed or not?

I thought i'd ordered the complete bar with bushes/clips included, but this wasnt the case & its difficult for me to get parts quickly due to where I live!

any thoughts appreciated:rolleyes:

I've just replaced my arb to a vRS one....the guy at skoda told me that the bushes are the same for the different thickness bars. I don't remember my new or old bushes having a plastic insert.

My old arb was in really bad condition...knocked all the time against part of the subframe, also the front end used to sway about at high speed.

I haven't driven the car much since i fitted it (4 wheel alignment needs doing) but it does feel much more solid, i also upgraded the wishbone bushes to the cupra ones so thats helped a bit.

Thanks for the response altech, might try and fit the old seat bushes on the vrs bar and see if that will work as a quick-fix for now. I can always get hold of some new bushes that fit if need be.
At least the new bar should stop the dreaded knocking!

Your old bushes should fit fine, i compaired the new bushes that i got to the old ones and they're exactly the same. But as you said it's easy to swap them over after.

It's so much nicer to drive my car now without the knocking, plus my mates have stopped asking 'whats that banging noise!'

cheers altech, thats good news - just saves me from running round for a part that nobody will have in stock round my neck of the woods!
