will a re-map invalidate my warranty?

hello,

i am looking about getting a re-mapp on a LCR that i am getting in a few weeks

but it has a year left on warranty....

the mapp i am looking at is the C-C stage 1.

anyone else done re-mapp while still in warranty??

any help would be great.

no it wont they wont find it on the car

i had mine staged 2 within a years warrenty with no probs

i thought it carnt be a thing they can find. dont like the idea of leaving my car there for the kids in the bloody garage 2 test drive it!!

just wasnt sure if vag-com could pick it up if they looking at a problem for what eva reason. u have reasured me tho!

Mine's stage 2 and still got a years warranty, and it will invalidate anything to do with your engine.

if im right, i may be wrong, a remap or any engine modifications within the warranty will invalidate it, but places like revo have a hidden code, so it doesnt show up on tests done by seat. only the tuning company can see
correct me if im wrong guys

IIRC if you take the car back under warranty for an engine fault and they find the map you're up the shitter - but there has to be a reasonable connection between what you've had done and the fault you're taking it in for.

i think the only way they can find it is ot scan the ecu? so unsure if they'd ever do that unless its an ecu fault so to speak

If you modify something then the warranty on that thing and anything directly related to it will be invalid.

So say if you remap your car and the drive shafts snap then they could potentially say that because you're placing additional load on them due to the remap then they could claim that it was caused by your remap.

Also despite what people say there are ways of finding out whether you have a remap installed or not. Most dealers probably just choose not to.
