Why is this such a weird shape?!

In the boot, anyone know why the clip on cubby hole bits on either side at the rear got that strange triangle shaped bit encroaching in the bottom instead of it being straight/flat all the way to the bottom? Is there something that fits across the width of the car that just isn't in mine or summat? All it does for me is stops things from fitting all the way to the bottom of the space. 🤷‍♂️

That's the infinite boot design that wasn't sold as an option at the time of launch in 2016. The assorted flexible boot designs. Mines a 4Drive with the skinny under a panel and the Seat Sound System sub woofer.

I never go under there, I admit it. Get a pump on the left, washer bottles in the right gap. Perhaps it was to let any water drain that may get in. Generous hole ?. It was the Skoda factory that turned the Ateca design into reality with the sister Karoq car that came out 6-12 months latter. They will be Skoda design touches.

I see you have found the posts which now covers upgrading the boot to what wasn't sold at the time of purchase.

BTW you got a bit on the right where a warning triangle kit can be fitted if you get the right design. Got a spare microfiber cloth stuffed in ours.

Yeah, is that the strap under the speaker housing with the rubber clip? Put my skoda triangle in there already.

That speaker binacle is like a blast from the past with my mk2 golf's... Happy days. 😊

Think you have found the strap. On the other speakers in the body of the car, now unlike the past you can't easily get at the speaker for speak upgrade. They aren't a bad sound although I did read people saying the word paper recently. Certainly in the Altea paper. You'd think resin. Given you can't see them without taking the door apart I'm not freeting. Then you have to drill them out and refit the bung....
