Why is it still in LIMP MODE!?

My car has near enough been in limp mode the past two weeks, its so annoying, The car was flying after getting it back from star.

To try and correct this I have changed the MAF, N75 valve, and the thrust sensor in my IC pipe. Tonight I set about resetting the fault codes that I've have from before (now that I have VAG-COM full version on my laptop) and this code keeps coming back up when it goes into limp mode (more or less as soon as I put my foot down after resetting the fault code)

= 1 Fault Found:

17965 - Charge Pressure Control: Positive Deviation
P1557 - 35-00 - -

I take it this means its overboosting and putting it into limp mode, or the N75 ain't doing its job??

Or what does it mean??

This is actually really putting me off my car, I love it, but I hate driving it with what seems like 40hp instead of its 240hp. I'm thinking of having a CTR to avoid annoying problems like this, but on the other hand I want to smoke CTR's in my car, If it would work!.....

Thanks for your help in advance.

Scott.

is your actuator screwed too far in?

Is your n75 in the right way round? not electrically, physically?

What boost are you hitting?

EDIT: dont be disheartened, little niggly faults like these are annoying. but they do get resolved. CTR doesnt have as much of a smile as the turbo :)

1st Q: Maybe I had to set it myself last week, the ******* came fully loose and nearly screwed right off, and the nuts nearly fell off the end, and I had no boost what so ever. I just set it up like i thought it was before? Maybe I went too far?
How do I know where to set it to accurately?

2nd Q: yeh i checked my N75 valve with other peoples its defo the right way round.

3rd Q: Dunno what boost, as i don't have a boost gauge yet.

Yeh I know I drove my work mates CTR its no where near as fun and torquey as my turbo car.

* Hoses/Pipes incorrect connected, disconnected, blocked or leaking
* Charger Pressure Control defective
or VNT (variable nozzle turbo): nozzles stuck
* Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75) defective

Possible Solutions

* Check Hoses/Pipes to/between Components
* Check Solenoid Valve for Boost Pressure Control (N75)
* Check / Clean / Replace Charge Pressure Control

I get this infrequently, more common is negative deviation for me.

I'm also mapped at Star.

I got the error your getting when i fitted a MAF that was screwed.

definately check what is showing on your actuator's thread length, if you say the nut nearly fell off the end and you had to tighten it back up yourself, the setting probably isnt correct. you should see approx 11 threads for it to be right.

if your n75 is plumbed in correctly then it stands a chance that it is ok......as its an electrical item though, it may point at this if youve checked everything else.

My MAF, N75F and thrust sensor are all brand new. I will go and check the threads on the actuator I only did that roughly because I did'nt know where to put it back to. Thanks for the help so far guys, will let you know how i get on.

Nope, took it down to 11 threads from about 16. And nope straight back into limp mode after a 2 min quick run. Came back same fault code, took it down to about 8 threads reset the fault, and again a quick run straight back into limp.

This is so frustrating! My car goes from good performance to >> crap my mums smart car could overtake me. Limp mode = gay

Going to take my car back to Jim @ Star
