Yesterday, did a 360-mile round trip to Maidenhead.

Average speed on the computer was exactly 60mph, actual fuel consumption (brimmed before the trip and after) was 50.9mpg (53.6 average on the computer).

That's with a few forays into three figures (kmh, that is ;) ) and all the creature comforts too.

Got to love it!

I'm currently in a HATE/LOVE relationship.

I love it but I don't have any money to look after her. But she hasn't let me down yet and she sounds like a strong engine from all the stories.

I currently don't have enough time to keep her clean but a bit of dirt never hurt nobody! If she wasn't so chipy and scratchy I'd probably spend more time cleaning her.

Pah.

I did a few miles at the weekend, mostly steady cruising on dual carriageways, and gentle A road driving, my average - about 41mpg :(

For those of you who don't know, that's the same car and engine as Craig has (Passat PD 130).

I really should pull my finger out and get this thing sorted out !

Have you checked all your tyres?

Silly question I know but I was woundering have they just gone half way or nearly need changing, does it look like the the tyres compound might have changed? dodgy tyres not that I know anything about tyres lol but some analysis on them might help!

Do you always use the same air machine might be broken? I don't know but tyres can make a big diff to mpg's right?
