you can fit a induction kit, or modify your current air box and get a green panel filter, its up to you, i know some people have induction kits and some dont, some prefer the modified airbox, its your own choice to be honest, whatever you prefer

you will definatly notice the difference one you have a remap, all the other parts ie:- downpipe, race cat back box, tip, fmic, DV etc etc .. will all compliment your remap and make your engine run alot better - with more bhp

best bang for buck is a remap. most folks do serial port programming.. which is no physical chips just reprogramming the ecu in situ. (non invasive)

some products offer trial, some offer switch boxes (extras) which allow a range of adjustment both up and down and to suit fuel types (95ul/98ul/100ul)

some are more aggresive than others and some have dealers throughout the uk so you can choose who to go to.

Beware its a slippery slope :) but it certainly go a lot better afterwards. :D

It all depends what you want, switchabolity, best gains etc.

All tuners i know now upload throuhg the OBD port, jabba dont chip an ECU unless its been revo'd now.

You'll need to make up your own mind.

Any of the the tuner listed in post#2 will give you good service, tried and tested by people on here.

Different forums have different 'Favourites' and just cos 1 person in a hundred has a bad experience and starts slagging people off it doesn't make them 'bad' all of a sudden.

Follow Ibizacupra's advice and do a little searchig on the 'extra's' you get with your remap etc.

its swings and roundabouts really, our car has the jabba custom remap, bailey DV30, Jabba Induction, and a single box stainless system with 100 cell cat, and its pretty quick, some around or over 200bhp, with torque to match, the guy who we brought our car off originally had a REVO map on it, however he had it removed as he found it a bit "spiky"

I've only driven a jabba mapped car, but having own G60 Veedubs for ages i wouldn't use anyone else for my forced induction VAG cars personally

You need to decide that for yourself mate, their are so many different opinions on who is best, like other people have said, do a little searching and see what YOU prefer, not other people

A brief, but not complete list of extra's

Jabba - Tweaked map for boost & timing, potential to have real time boost controller fitted (at extra cost)
Revo - Ability to adjust boost, timing, valet mode, security mode, stock - with suitable switch (at extra cost)
APR - Ability to switch between maps on Cruise control stick (again, extra cost)
Custom-Code - adjustable using software - free, but you need a working copy of vag-com & a laptop. Not sure what ranges of adjustment you have (too much range & little knowledge is bad)

that said.... all will make your car go faster for ~£400 give or take
