I'll be picking my Cupra Tdi up on the 3rd, and have never had a car remapped before, is there any point getting it custom coded to phase 1 first, am planning on replacement filter and exhaust as initial mods, I'm looking for around 200 bhp.
Yes you can get it custom coded to phase 1 first without any additional modifications. Draw backs to this are that the clutch may well possibly start slipping as it is a weak point on TDI 150s when remapped. Do a search there are loads of threads on this and you can draw up your own conclusions on clutch slip.
Another option you can do is get the "other" mods done first like ARBS, Suspension and Brakes to set you up for the remap. There is quite a few existing threads of mods people have done...
People to search for are Unclefester, Slick and Devonmikeyboy as they have quite a few threads with good info. Hope this helps!
To get to phase two you will need to have an exhaust and panel filter or CAI i believe......
I've already ordered a K&N element, wanted to get a Magnex system as I had one on the focus and loved it, only problem is magnex don't make one for the Cupra TDI which is a shame, had my heart set on the 6x4 oval. Would it make better sense to go straigh to Phase 2
With the Custom-Code upgrade scheme you will receive a 40% discount on phase two if you already have phase one, giving you the time to do all the modifications you want to before moving up to stage two.
