I am in a similar situation I have been looking around everywhere. I have read through a lot of posts and I agree most been seem to have FK Coilovers or KONI sport kit! After much searching Awesome GTI did a good KONI suspension kit, not sure if sport one though, retailing at £305 not including VAT. The problems I have had is that some suspension kits wont drop more than 30mm as the ARB gets in the way on my car. I don't know if this varies on each kit! The kits mentioned above sound great and are well priced but what are they like! This company was recommended to me as well - PI springs check out this website. Delivery is free and price is 300 quid inc VAT.

I'm also interested in upgrading my suspension soon. Both my previous cars have had a pretty hard suspension set up so my tdi sport, although not bad on A roads, feels like its got quite a lot of body roll.

I had a Koni road suspension kit on my previous car (a mk2 clio) and the handling was a lot better than standard. The garage that fitted it set it up with about 90% dampening hardness at the front and 50% rear which they thought would even out under steer a bit. IMO the trouble with the Koni kits that come with matched springs is that they don't lower the back by much at all. I don't know if this is because the back is expected to take a greater varience in load (e.g. - three passengers and a boot full) but it gives the appearance that the car is a bit nose-dived. I found a thread on this forum where someone took a before and after picture of an Ibiza lowered on a Koni kit and the back looked exactly the same as standard.

Obviously with coilovers you can adjust the hight and dampening but is there a significant difference in handling and comfort? My Koni kit was great on A roads but comfort was severely compromised on the crappy town roads in my area.

I read somewhere that if you fit a front strut brace - you can have the front suspension set a lot softer so that you retain the comfort without comprimising handling
