afternoon folks.

ive just dropped and smashed my phone :(.

i know there is a sticky for leon bluetooth compatible phones, however i'd like to know which phones you lot out there have that seem to work particularly well, and which phones that are listed as compatible but you wouldnt recommend.

my current food bag full of pieces was made by samsung, but i am not loyal to a particular phone brand.

my needs are in order;

1 call clarity,
2 ringer volume,
3 leon bluetooth compatibility,
4 mp3, walkman music player
5 camera

your opinions welcome

My Nokia 6230i works perfectly.

But it is an old phone now, but I got this after ordering the Cupra. So as to be able to fully use the Bluetooth.

I agree, I got a Motoralo V3 and had to ditch it as texting was so un-intuitive, and went back to a Nokia 6310i. Cheap, but great functionality - syncs with Outlook and ALWAYS works with the car. Useful camera for those outabout moments and cost nowt

last phone was a samsung which was ok
the one before was siemens which was rubbish
before that a long line of nokias

The wife has always had sony errickson and swears buy them so 12 months ago I got a w810i

I upgraded the 512mb memory card for a 1gb and have to say its the best mobile I have had.
Ive knocked it, dropped it, scratched it, it still sounds fine.

Camera is good.
Connected to the leons bluetooth straight away and have had no problems.
MP3 is great, (It is a walkman phone after all) I was going to get an ipod but never bothered after I got the phone and use it all the time when down the gym.
Its really easy to click and drag tracks once you have all the software loaded onto your pc.
In process of getting a two way adapter so can play it through the Leons aux and will let you know how it sounds.

Its upto you what you get, im sure there are phones that look better but I will definately get another sony errikson when I upgrade and I hate to say this but.... the wife was right:redface:

I couldnt find a two-way adapter anywhere, if anyone can please let me know.

Best I could find was a 'Stereo 3.5mm Jack plug lead' made by Nikkai. I got one from maplin for £4.49.
It has 1.5m of cable which even when taped up looks a bit unsightly, but it works.

I have had different types of adapters for MP3 players on previous cars, mostly the radio transmitter type that tunes into a vacant fm radio station and you always get a certain amount of background noise and interference.

The trick is to have the volume on the phone turned up about 2 thirds and the volume on the phone the same, if you play around you should be able to cut out all background noise.

You may have to re adjust the bass and treble as the settings through the aux connection are different to those on radio and CD.

Its ok but I dont think the sound is quite as clear as playing a CD :)
