I need replacement Front brake pads and i only want to buy a set that have the metal shim on the back of the front pad so that I can prevent the click noise when pressing the brake pedal at low speeds.

Can anyone advise? I know that EBC and Brembo have it.

Mintex do not.

Regards.

Even with copper gease, at low speeds or reversing, you can still hear the pads clonking very slightly. Ones with the Shim do not do this.

i have that too

when driving in reverse and braking i get a clonk also ! might just be a little space in the nuts i think...

i got Ferrodo DS2500 and grooved EBC discs from badger 5

so what about those shims ? are they just a washer ?

It's a shim lol! rectangular on shape profiled to fit between your pad and the piston.

Some aftermarket brakes these days (like the Mintex CTech I've had previously) come with a pseudo-shim-like pad attached to the back of the brake pad... but even with copper grease it still squealed a bit.
