Which exhaust ?!?!?!

Hi all,

Debating here as to which exhaust would give me the most benefit & best sound.
Looked at a few, Miltek, Blueflame, Scorpion, Powerflow. Etc.

Now, will all of these cat-back systems come with a middle/centre box?
I looked at a few pics of a Miltek one on ebay and they appear to be straight through systems ?!?!
Surely there won't be any back pressure? (or is this a bad picture)

Firstly what car? Secondly turbo'd cars don't need the same back pressure as NA cars.. reduced back pressure is no bad thing with the 1.8t.
I know milltek do a non-res (straight through) and a resonated system which has a centre box and is quieter.

Obviously you can buy off-the-shelf exhausts (eg. Milltek) or get a custom one made up for you (eg. Powerflow). The advantages of a custom one is that you can get the noise you want "tuned" by the fabricator (different sizes of silencer/box). If you plump for a off-the-shelf cat-back you can opt to go with or without the middle box (which will make it a bit loader...) Turbo'd engines don't need the back pressure so it wont suffer from a straight through system.
I have a Powerflow cat-back on my Ibiza FR 20vt (bought from ebay and an absolute bargain!) and it has no middle box and quite a small rear box... it is much louder than standard but not too bad!

Ah right i see, and i have a LC, so 1.8 20v t. Ive got an old powerflow system off a corsa i sold ages ago, which was straight through, little bit loud for my liking mind. Does a centrebox hinder performance or just noise?

How much am i looking at paying for a decent system?

Well cat-back Milltek for the Ibiza is about £400, so others might be about the same! I believe the middle box only gets rid of higher frequency sounds (turbo spool etc.) If you have a straight-through middle section and a good size rear box it won't be too loud at all.
If I had a choice, I would go for a slightly larger rear box than I have on my Powerflow as it could be a little quieter... it sounds lovely on tickover, just a little loud at full beans... It was an ebay bargain though, so can't complain!
