okay looking at armrests for my leon..... i have come across the armrest that i would class as more square shaped (original seat, i think) or the curved shaped one (original VW one i think)

Which one is best and am i right in saying the square shaped one is the seat original.....??

Square shaped one is the original SEAT one ... think only the A4 comes with this too (or one other in the VAG range)

I've got a factory fit velour one as standard in the Toledo (SE) but it's grey so I sourced a black (dark grey) one from .... something  on eBay

The material was that polyester-y stuff that they put on the Cupra doorcards and I couldn't stand it - it was so rough and uncomfortable :( Grey or not, the standard lid went straight back on

I'm temped now to get an aftermarket one in black velour - just for comfort

Has anybody used one of the eBay armrests? There are always loads on there but I'm not sure what the quality is like. Price is certainly good though and they look the part, but it's hard to judge from photos alone. Any reviews?

i got an ebay one
fitted the bracket (which required some modification)
cut the coin tray area out and it wont fit, so at the moment i have the bracket fitted and hole where it should go-its been like that for about 5 months becuase im too lazy to finely cut the console to get it to fit

quality of the actual armrest itself is good, i think the issues with the ebay one's have been the bracket snapping. it is quite a soft alloy bracket. you could always get the VAG bracket from a VW dealer and fit with the ebay armrest.

one from seat fitted costs around 200 all in fitted iirc, and from what ive spoken to dealers they find it a nightmare and have had to pull all carpets back and weld them in place at times!

Depends how much of a battle you want on your hands, some people have fitted the ebay ones with no problem (unclefester), but i think fester never had the coin tray part his rear section of centre console was just flat so could cut it exactly to size rather than boring out the coin tray area
