Which alloys to go for!!

hey people

I am having a little bit of trouble deciding which alloys to put on my red LCR! after having a little slide on the snow ther other week i damage the standard alloys so time to get new ones.
I have been looking about now for afew days and i am just finding more and more nice wheels that i like the look of however will suit the car.

So could you guys give me a little help deciding which one-

1st BBS ch's which i hear loads of people have.

2nd ADVANTI RACING LIGHTWEIGHT black with a red lip. ebay item number: 130354216447

3rd JADE R ALLOY (black or silver) http://www.alloywheels.com/product.asp?P_ID=2420

These are just a few at the moment the set that i am liking the most at the moment are the 3rd set jade r's but nor shore if i should go for silver or black?

What do you people think? has anyone got these on there car's?

I think the Jade R's would look really smart, I changed mine last week and it was between the Jade R's and the ProRace 1.2's I only went for the ProRace because of the weight but I reckon the Jades would look really smart :)

I'd go black.

CH's look the nuts to be honest... it all depends on what your looking for though. just looks then the world is your oyster i guess... if its performance then lighter is better??

not sure how light those wheels are but they come with extra load van tyres for a vito van lol.

I went for some OZ ultra leggra's as they are light and the best i could afford. i'm not sure how light the ch's are but if i was going for looks i'd defo heve them!

yeh the OZ ultra leggra i did looked at and liked them too it hard realy, i didn't realy think about how heavy they are but i will have a look now, howvever i don't know the weight of the standard lcr wheels

Big!! different then do you notice any difference in it though? i am just tring to find the weight now of the jade-r as i think i will get them, but the cxt are nice.

when you was looking between the S Jade-r and the ProRace 1.2's did you manage to find the weight of the Jade-R's??

cheers mate i got bored of looking for the weight an d i just kept coming across more nice alloys so think i will just get the Jade-r, will just have to make shore they go over the bembo brakes.

yep... its unsprung rotational mass too... lighter wheels = better braking, better steering turn in, better acceleration and less torque required to turn them and as an added bonus lower fuel consumption...

if you have a 40kg unsprung weight and you hit a bump with a force of 4G then that adds up to a 160kg load on the shocks/springs.

So basicly lighter is better... this also includes brakes... well anything not "sprung" by the suspension. unspring weight is worth around 6 times the weight removed from sprung weight

so removing 2kg from each corner = unsprung removed 8kg

8kg x6 (worth 6x the ammount) = 48kg equivilent in unspring -- crazy eh!

Hope that helps in wour choice... also dont get too big a rim... thats another science but it'll be arround 7-8% increase in the torque required to rotate the wheel.

yeh cheers for that post does make me think about it more. but doesn't helping the process of selecting some alloys for my lcr! lol
