I need some help deciding whether to sell my cupra r body kit...
Insurance is coming up which will be around £2600! and just buying a house makes me prettyyyyy skint, i've got the front cupra r bumper and side skirts both in black but with a few marks on them and the rear bumper is a normal cupra one but has been smoothed over the exhaust hole so people without an actual cupra could have it and just spray it as it is only primered! and then it will cost a couple hundred to paint, but seens as i want a bike i think i need to sell up, but it's took me 9 months to finally buy the whole kit!
is it worth selling or keeping?

thats fairly decent for your age! Ive got a claim and only 1 years no claims and ive only just turned 19, and car crime is high in my area :(

I thought it was shite, but turns out it is a decent quote. Insurance premiums are a bit of a joke. You're age is your downfall I reckon, a lot of places wouldn't even insure me and I'm 3 years older.

I'd never pay £2600 to insure anything this side of a super car and that would only because I had so much month that I didn't care. Sadly your age and area seem to be against you so the sensible option would be to sell the Leon and buy something more affordable. Give it a couple of years and you might be jumping back into a Cupra or Cupra R :).

and i thought i was getting stung on insurance :O

24yrs old, driving 5yrs, 2yrs NCB, sp30 conviction with 5pts and a £7500 claim against me 2yrs ago

£900 with all mods declared

How the f**k are you paying less than me when I have a clean record, been driving the same time and have 2 more years NCB than you!? Drives me nuts, no mods declared either!

it baffles me to be honest, and i've not fiddled with info when filling in the forms online. however when i get my FMIC fitted my current company won't insure me :( as i have too many mods declared and they won't insure intercooler mods. best quote i've found when i'm due for renewal £1000

i'm putting it down to location as my mate has a vectra sri cdti, is 24yrs old, driving 6yrs, full protected NCB and is £600, where as i'm £570 on the exact same car with my driving record.

must be down to location, my postcode is KA22..... North Ayrshire, Scotland

even smaller litre cars are around the same price and LOVE the leon so wouldn't change her!

Hmm, I thought that too but the village I live in is quiet and nothing happens at all  Oh well, insurance companies take the pi$$.
