Wheel Size on Ibiza Mk4(6L)

Hi everyone

First post here. Wanted to get accurate information from Ibiza MK4 (6L) owners. -I have an FR TDi '05. Simple question really but what wheels can I fit on the car? Currently the wheels are 205/45/16. They are a bit knackered after 10 years and lots of potholes so I have good reason to replace them. I am considering 17" or 18". I understand 17" need lower profile tyres to avoid rubbing so: 205/40/17 -is that correct? Could I fit 18" wheels and if so what profile would they need to be?

Yes 17s fit comfortably as it was an optional upgrade when new. 205 40 17 would be the correct tyre size too. As I have the 17s upgrade on mine, Same car.
Not too sure on 18s though

I think you'll need 215 35 18 tyres to run 18s on your Ibiza

Not sure if you'll have problems with the arches if you're lowered though...
