Wheel Paint Problem !

I drove very slowly up a curb to park, when the tyre compressed, this happen to the rim, tyres have the correct 29psi in as I checked yesterday...

It looks like the wheel has been refinished before, note the "layers" of paint.

Theres no damage to the tyre either, its as if theres too much paint on it or the paint applied to very brittle

Near Reevo :)
Nope, that looks like standard alloy paint layers.

This is why you put the entire tyre towards the kerb to go up it, not just the edge of it especially with low profile tyres!

Lesson learnt i assume ?

And yes, Seat C.S. will do nothing, its not their fault you drove up a kerb.

Tyres with bigger rim protectors may of helped a little though, perhaps choose different tyres next time you replace them?

I managed to catch a curb going in to a car park last friday night too, so I had 2nasty marks on the rim now :(

Anyway, I've just had the local Chips Away chap round to sort out my carparking "error's"

It cost £47 inc vat, & it took him 90mins from start to finish, & was well worth the expense.

Anybody in the Leicestershire area needing a smart repair, I'd certanly suggest you try this chap...

PM me if you want his details ..

I painted my the centre of my hubs matt black so they don't rust up ;) Clipped a kerb myself same wheels and same paint, the guy who fixed them did say it seemed thick but had no problem matching it up. I had a few chips around 3 slightly lager but still only £40 to come out to house and do it. Having a wrangle with the council over a kerb clip down a lane, taken 3 months so far :(
