Just drove the mk4 oil burner up to the shop and noticed a thumping noise every time i moved off.
When i got to the shop i had a look if the strut brace had come loose or if it was knocking on the airbox but it wasn't.

When i got home i pushed the dirvers side wheel with my foot from the front end of the car. To my horror the wheel moved all the way back to the other side of the arch:confused::confused:

I stuck my head under the car and it aprears that one of the bushes under the drivers footwell has dissapeared so i take it thats the problem? The one on the otherside is still there but it all honesty it looks pretty ronnied!

Can you tell me which bush this is and roughly how much i would be looking at to get it, or both of them replaced? Thanks :)

Sounds like the front wishbone rear bush.

Best option is to get them both replaced with the Cupra version - which is solid, unlike the earlier ones with huge voids in them.

Mate check the bolts that connect the wheel to the wishbone. My car did this after a bolt popped out. Scary stuff as if it happens at speed it could be bye bye. And whats really strange about these bolts is that they are put in upside down, so if the nut comes loose it will fall straight down :headhurt:
