Milton keynes!
Hi Pick up my new ibiza fr on wednesday (RED), i have always been a bit obsessive with cleaning my car and want this car to be no different without making mistakes, but of course i dont want to go mad because i have not got the money to go ape on it all the time, products i use are:

Megs gold class shampoo
Megs gold class Liquid wax
Autoglym ultra deep shine
Autoglym Ultra resin polish
Autoglym Sealent shiny stuff (cant remember what its called but comes in a white and gold bottle)
Some tyre and rubber dressing i bought off ebay "autosol?" which i apply with a paint brush. Which i just use on tyres i use megs black trim gel stuff for the trim.
I use wonder wheels once in a blue moon if the dirt gets really bad.
I have a lambswool mitt which i bought from halfrauds and i soft bristle cleanin brush which i bought from costco (are they bad because i could not fint much on brushes?)
I will start using the two bucket method also.
For drying i use megs waffle water magnet cloth and i have a big pack of microfibre clothes which i also bought from costco.

Which ones should i be using and in what order? and also are there any other products which are a must? becuase i have never given things like wheel sealent and claying a thought?
exuse my ignorance as i know some of you boys are very serious about detailing as am i thats why i want to do it right!
Thanks for reading and all that and thanks in advance for the advice!

Just using the above products, my order would be.....

Rinse to loosen dirt
2 bucket method using gold class shampoo and wash mitt. [ DO NOT USE the brush!!!]
Waffle weave dry [although i never liked the megs one]
Couple of cots of AG super resin polish
Couple of cots of AG Ultra deep shine

Then dress tyres, plastcis etc.

Id probably invest in a new drying towel and a new wash mitt, I highly rate the Sonus towels, and lambs mitts.

Depending how old the car is it might need claying it might not, If its brand new it probably won;t need doing, but it wouldnt do it any harm in doing so.

Check out www.detailingowrld.co.uk for some awesome advice and tips or:

www.polishedbliss.co.uk - they have some good guides, you can also purchase products from them aswell.

Any questions just Aask.

Cheers

Its Super resin polish, which will remove light swirling and scratches and then Ultra deep shine which will protect it.

Although the durability isnt that great.

Depending if you do want to buy new products i highly recomend Chemical Guys range, everything ive tried of theirs is easy on/off leaves awesome results and is cheapish aswell.

try www.carwashnwax.co.uk for some products.

With the drying teq's i normally use the waffle towel to get the worst and a small cheap'er one to get the nooks and cranny's and bits i miss is this good?
what i am saying is will the cheaper ones cause damage?

Sonus Der Wunder drying towel is awesome at sucking up the water.

I was recommended that over the Megs Water Magnet and I've not been disapointed so far.

I use two of them and just 'pat' all areas of the car dry, works a treat.

Cant see any cloth you use doing major damage, I would recommend 'patting' or 'dabbing' rather than dragging the towel across the paint or working it in circles.

That should be fine, Ive got one drying towel for the roof/bonnet/upper half etc. then one for the lower doors, and a diff one for wheels, just to be safe!

I find that using a quick detail spray, helps with the drying process alot. Halfords sell some made by meguiars.
