Its a sad day, after 18 (mostly happy) months I must part with the cordoba.
I've been searching ebay, autotrader and free ads and can find examples for £300 upto £1995 !
So any help with pricing mine ? I think its nearer the bottom figure as it really needs some TLC, but runs fine and everything works. Only selling cos of nagging wife and teenage kids forcing me to a 5 door diesel.
In brief its a 1999 T reg Cordoba SX 2.0 16v, half leather, aircon(works but not ice cold so assume leak or re-gas), usual bits like ABS, sunroof, electric windows, central locking, trip computer (averages 34mpg) 97,000 miles, 5 months Tax, MOT 30th May 2009. Being a late one it isn't rusty yet.
Extras
- seat cupra alloys, full set of matching pirelli pzero neros (fronts as new, back about 4mm left), cost £400 last year
- full spax vsx kit, springs and gas dampers, cost £270 last year
- new middle exhaust and tail pipe May 2008 cost £160
- new front disks and pads May 2008
- new front o/s suspension arm/bushes and wheel bearing May 2008
- Box of spares I've collected from breakers and ebay but not needed, including starter motor, gear level housing and cables to box, idle control valve, ignition coil, belts etc... I can't remember it all.
Nice to know
- cambelt done at 60k 5 years ago, so its due another on age.
- pedal box and ignition coil changed at 70k
- changed gearbox last year for another used one, checked and clutch is good, last owner said it was changed at 65k anyway.
Bad bits
- been keyed on n/s rear and o/s front
- rear box knocks underside as wife keeps hitting it on speed humps (£5 at tyre depot each time to hit pipes back together)
- lower spoiler on front bumper has 3 cable ties as I broke the tabs on a kerb.
- last owner replaced the cloth trim with half leather from an Ibiza, which a great idead, the drivers seat was very worn, and now the seat back is broken on one side, so needs repair or replacement (i've been searching for months and can't find one that says gti 16v to match though)
- handbrake is on top notch so needs adjusting or cable.
- heater control has a cable tie to pull for heat as the plastic dial behind the dash has snapped, works fine, just doesn't look the prettiest.
