As title i'm booked in at the dealers tomorrow but just decided to go for the arnold clark 32 point service as all i need is an oil and filter service and my book stamped for the warranty. The car is just coming up for 50,000 miles and got the works done last year when i bought the car. It's 69 for the 32 point service and 150 for the seat service. When i asked the dealer what the difference between the 2 all they said was in the seat service they use genuine parts but the seat filter is only a fiver so i'm going to buy it and just ask them to fit that instead. Do they plug in vagcom and if so what would they do? Should have posted earlier but been to busy.

50k service is only an oil and filter change. I wouldn't have sub-par parts fitted so perhaps you should bring along the oil, filters etc?

A couple of things that aren't in the service schedule are the fuel filter and gearbox oil so you might want those changed at some point too (although VAG do say gboxes are sealed for life).
