What to look for when buying

Right, missus is after a car, found a nice little Mk2 Ibiza 8V 2.0 GTi - first need to check I can get the funds for the car, but if so, what should I be looking for aside from the obvious (rust on sills/arches, straight body etc) if I look at any?

Stiff clutch action there was some other things as well but mind is blank.... They are a good car had one myself

and the not so obvious in the arch seams and rear sills all under the covers

creaking too - could show a pending pedal box
battery tray
sloppy gearchange
engine mounts
rear discs (assy needs bearings too to replace)
windows are secure and work ok (clips break)
usual stuff really but i could add loads really
