at what RPM should the turbo be boosting at the maximum boost on my 1.9tdi 110? my turbo doesnt kick in until about 3000rpm and thats far too late surely? it is dead below that in any gear unless you get it working first. if you gu it in first up to 3200rpm the turbo boosts and the car picks up and flys off then once you change it comes back in straight away. if i am in second and put my foot down then its dead until 3000rpm then once again the turbo kicks in and you fly off and then again if you change gear then the boost is there straight away. its really wierd, like the point at which the turbo creates boost has been changed or something. its really starting to piss me off alot.:censored:

Your standard turbo should start producing recognizable boost at about 1500revs with its max engine torque at about 2000revs.

Sticky VNT vanes, a bad actuator or N75 boost regulation valve could be the reason, although it should fall into a limp mode when you accelerate while flooring it constnatly, beginning at about 1500revs up to 4500...

Second possibility: Bad MAF Sensor...

well there is something wrong then cus mine dont do anything until about 3000rpm which is way too late. i will test out everything and see what comes about. will wd40 the actuator valve and see if that solves it if not then new maff and new n75 valve (is that the EGR?) my egr is blocked off so shouldnt cause a problem. could it be the map sensor? my engine management light doesnt work so dont know if its going into limp although sometimes it will get to around 2200rpm and then just die so it could be going into limp mode!!!

No, N75 is the boost control valve, on the 110 is the same as the N18 Egr control valve but with a different colour cap on the back firewall.

Map sensor - umm maybe but havent heard of many of them causing probs, they are generally good.

sounds like you are going into limp mode if it gets to 2200 then dies. You should feel peak boost and the best surge on the 110 at about 1900-2000 rpm, its really noticable as well so yours definatly isnt right, i would look at whats been listed.

My big hybrid starts building boost good and early at 1500, and by 2000 revs and over it is on full boost of 2 bar, with perhaps a little overboost in the 2000-2500 range.

its deffo not right cus it went completely into limp mode yesterday. thing is it seems like my N75 and N18 valves are the wrong way round. the one with the white top (which i thought was the N75 is connect to the EGR which is unplugged and the black top valve (which i thought was N18 is connected to the wastegate!!! unless they did both types with black and white tops??
