Hello

I'm pretty new to all this cleaning your car properly business....

I used to use a brush a chamois some colour magic...

I now use a couple of mitts and the two bucket method !

Oh and I bought a miracle dryer and some meguiars cleaning liquid wax...

I'm a bit bamboozled by all the products available - pre-foams, 100's of shampoos and waxes that you apply by hand !!

I like the look of snow foam but I'm not prepared to pay £50 for a lance....

I've got a pressure washer and normally use that and some triplewax shampoo

Can anyone recommend some products that I should try out ?

cheers

look at Rubbish Boys website, and theres also Clean Your Car

Think Poor Boys do some good stuff aswell. It really is a case of shopping around.

Register on here; www.detailingworld.co.uk and go on the forum here. They are really good. can read reviews on all/most products available. find out what's what etc etc.

Hope that helps you a little more,

Mat

good selection on www.cleanyourcar.co.uk

there is so many products out there. It really dpends how much time and effort you want to put in.

Personally im normally happy with just a wash, then a nice coat of some proper wax.

There has been quite alot of hype about the new Meguiars NXT2.0 wax. http://www.cleanyourcar.co.uk/sealants/meguiars-nxt-2-0-wax/prod_454.html

Fairly cheap, but best of all, its easy to use.

You'll also need an foam applcator pad, and a microfibre cloth to buff off.

Hi Justa,

The more details you can provide the more help we can give you.

What kind of car and colour is it you have?

What kind of finish are you after?

I now know your budget roughly per product. You mention spending a bit more on a wax but your not sure if you need a wax yet or not. You have the choice between sealant or wax or even both.

It's not a case of one being better than the other it all depends on the look you want to give your car.

Again here you have a couple of options, you can go for a wet glossy look - wax

or you can go for shinier deeper look - sealant.

Durability isn't even a factor between these two as some are better than others in both fields. It will depend on how much time you are going to devote to keeping on top of your car.

If you can post up more info we will help you where we can.

Lee.

thanks for the replies !

I've bought quite a few bits and bobs after going on DW !

Got a snow foam lance (couldn't resist it despite blowing the budget)

The car is a Zenith Grey Leon FR - I went for some Dodo's need for speed and then some Nattys blue

oh also bought some Duragloss 901, Megs SHampoo Plus and tried a sample of Hyper wash !

Oh to answer one of your questions Lee I was looking for a nice wet look wax !

oh bought some Bilt Hamber auto clay too - which was great !

Sorry Justa,

I should have looked at the date of the OP.

I just assumed it was recent.

Glad you got everything sorted. Nice collection for your car and you have done an excellent job. You got your wet finish.

Looking good.

Keep up the good work and post some more pics. :D
