Hello,

I yanked all the seats, etc out of the back of the gti.

Now seeing as its looking a bit empty back there i wanted to build a mdf frame to go in there so that i can mount a few subs and amps. However, and this being a big HOWEVER, i'm struggling to think how the frame is going to sit. Whether it be best if it is mounted or can just rest securely is beyond me.

Also im trying to think of a compromise between easy to build/looks good/not like a chav stuck it together. Any points of view or advice would be appreciated?

Cheers

As a starter maybe you should look at a rear strut-brace. This would give you a solid part to secure a box of sorts to? Best of luck with it and let us know how you get on!

why not remove the crap floor panel they have , use it as a template for a decent thick MDF one and then use *that* as a base for building on to ?

currently re-doing mine after purchasing my 2nd amp :)

Amps are being secured to a piece of wood which is screwed into the wheel well. Then the boot carpet that usually covers the wheel well has a piece of mdf stuck to the underneath of it which rest in the ridge just above the wheel well.

As for the sub's there in a JL HO box so they sit where passengers once sat. Shall post pics when done :)
