what is this and is it leaking

Just wonderd what this was at the front of the engine bay. Also has a greasy substance around it. Not major leakage but is it anything to worry about. There seems to be deviation in the colour of it as it seems something has leaked in the past and stained it.

I think it could be the oil filter...any pics from further away?

it is the oil filter housung, tighten it up and clean the area, then keep an eye on it

probably a clumsy/lasy filter change last time

housing for filter element catridge just clean up and check for any leaks
