Think there is only special regulations on cars that have them as standard. Think its a grey area about cars without them as standard. Most MOT stations will just pass them aslong as not stupidly blue/purple etc.. If not it only takes 5min to swap them back to standard.

None, They are ALL illegal and you can get decent bulbs these days that give out 99% the same as HID kits do

 please get me a link where i can buy normal bulbs that give out 99% of the light that my HID's do.

you see HID's and normal bulbs work very differently.

HID's are a High Intensity Discharge, they work by converting your normal 12v xAmp from your car battery in to a much higher voltage and a much lower current (transformer). this is then sent to the HID bulb where there are 2 electrodes a very small distance apart. since there is not a complete circuit the power from the batter causes a small arc accross these 2 electrodes. this then ignites the gas around the 2 electrodes which then produces the bright light that is emmitted.

normal (fillament) bulbs work by passing a current through a coil of metal then then glows red hot, this then excites the gass around the coil and produces light.

an ARC is massivly more bright than a fillament, hence why all the new cars have xenons

just wait till its dark to see the difference in light given off..
