I have a seat leon 1.9tdi se 110bhp. I want an engine change, still want to stick to a diesel, i was lookint at FR engines, what other engines can i use golf mk4 gt-tdi engines, will mk5 golf or leon mk2 engines fit? or will there be too much work??
About as gooda advice as you'll get. You could tinker with the 110 lump to reach around 180bhp(ish) or as previously said just get an FR or Cupra tdi, get it remapped and enjoy the reliable 200bhp.
Believe me when you start to swap the engines and it all fits and your nuts are the size of mellons they will quickley shrink when when you realise just how much of the wiring loom you'll have to replace along with getting the immobiliser sussed and sourcing all the other bits - as muttley said the fuel system is totally different and incorporates a lift pump in the tank and an underslung fuel cooler which the 110 doesnt have.
as has been said dont build something you could buy you will end up spending way more money and it will be a lot of effort and then you will have the difficulty of insuring a car thats had an engine swap and insurance companies dont like that idea
