What does the warranty actually cover?

Hi folks,
My car's warranty is up in 6K miles or 2 months, depending which I hit first. Before it expires, it makes sense to get as many problems fixed with the car as I can. However, this is the first car i've owned still in warranty, so how far will the dealers actually go to fix things free of charge?

I have a few problems listed below:
- Steering "knocks" occasionally turning the wheel, and "groans" if turned past one turn either direction
- Passenger floor damp (a common fault of course!)
- Boot panel is rattling like crazy
- Rear seats rattling as they aren't latching properly
- Left horn button doesn't seem to work
- Cruise control doesn't work as manual says - the button on the end of the stalk doesn't knock speed off

etc etc.. The most obvious one is the noisy steering. However, the others really annoy me on a daily basis - but, would the dealer look at them before the warranty ends? Is there anything else I should ask them to check over before it expires?

Cheers,
Matt

only wearing parts are not coverd. clutch, brake pads etc. some garages will do a free end of warrenty check to try and drum up a bit work. the knock sounds the same as the one i had a few months ago and turned out to be the near side track rod end. might be worth checking power steering fluid and belt tension for groan. most probs just stressing the pump on full lock.

I'd say all of those have a very good chance of being addressed by the dealer as a warranty claim, apart from maybe the Cruise Control if it wasn't a factory fitted option.

Thanks for the reply. Looking a bit further at the warranty booklet from Seat, it looks like the third year is a bit more limited than the first two in what they will cover.

Before your track rod end was replaced, did your steering wheel ever feel loose as you driving along? I can't quite explain what this feels like, but you can feel the steering column rattle up and down like the wheel isn't firmly held in place. I've checked to make sure the adjustment lever is locked in place, which it is.

I hope i'm not finding fault when this is how the car is as standard. However, I had a new MINI before the Leon, and rather hoped that it would be better built (which wouldn't be difficult actually!).

Yeah, the cruise control came factory fitted. I need to just double check that i've not read the instructions wrong, but there appears to be no way to knock down the speed. I can increase it fine, but the other way, no happens :(
