With a TDI the BHP figures are normally pub talk, the torque is the figures you want to see, pull like trains!
Although decent suspension mods and a diff make the world of difference!

Torque is proportional to horse power so of course it is important. Horse power = torque x rpm /5250. Diesels with a wide spread of a strong torque band will equate to more power unfortunately to create this power on a diesel fuel is needed which in turn creates higher exhaust gas temps couple that with a dpf in place and you run into problems with dpf's clogging up no end. With a dpf delete and good custom file 230 bhp is achievable from both the PD170 and the CR170
