Part exed my lc for a Leon cupra R 98.000 miles in black with gun metal grey alloys, anyway got a few questions.

1. When I put foot down in 3rd, 4th sometimes when revs hit around 4k it's shoots up fast to 5.5-6k, is this clutch slipping? But never does it in second gear even spins. Could this be boost leak? Split hose?

2. It's seems to make a dumping noise, I have fitted my forge 007p which doesn't dump? It has a k&n cone filter (well more of an oval shape) which looks really dirty.

3. I think it may have a n95 bypass, it's has a blue silicone pipe From top off dv nipple to the little reservoir above coil pack 4 to other side of engine. What is the affect of doing this? It also has toyo sport TIP, with a standard plastic diverter valve ( forge 007p now tho) Im also undecided if it's mapped or not : s

Lol I hope not too, I have 3 month warranty with car don't know if clutch is covered tho, how much for clutch & fitting approx?

Could this happen if the engine wasn't getting enough air, just swapped air filter over for halfords special and it's been transformed : s the k&n was black, even the wire mesh was worn out and frayed from rubbing.

My Sache clutch cost about £800. Think a stock dealer setup is about £500 iirc?

Def sounds like clutch. When mine was slipping it would do it in gears 3+

Is there a test for clutch slip, sure seen something bout putting in 6th gear an putting foot down

Defo clutch, same symptoms as mine a few weeks back, your gonna need a clutch and flywheel if she's slipping like that.
It won't slip in second as there is not enough load. Also the cone filters enhance the noise of the DV recirculating air back into the intake and the n249 bypass further adds to this.

When I go to buy cars and to test clutch I put the handbrake on really hard , put it in second and try to pull away with quite a few revs on. If it stalls the engine it's generally ok but if it slips then it's buggered!
But even now if say clutch still
I'd go see the garage as that is ALOT if money to do!

Still not done it since changed air filter and standard dv, maybe I was just paranoid an it was turbo kicking in lol I'll try the handbrake test, I have a driver plan warranty if that covers clutch. Just had tracking done, front wheels were 10 mm out : o but I did find out my exhaust is a miltek cat back lol

Another question, when I open or lock with key fob it beeps is this an alarm or immobiliser? Where would it be under bonnet?
